Job Description:
This incumbent demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The incumbent participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team.
Schedule
Candidate will be expected to work at least 3 shifts per quarter. The shifts will vary and can be between 7:30am-9:30pm M-F, and 8am-6pm weekends. This is a position in the Talent Share Float Pool, so the shifts can be at any Front Range Outpatient Pharmacy (Saint Joseph, Good Samaritan, Lutheran Hospital).
Scope
As an Outpatient Pharmacy Tech you need to know how to:
Assist with all phases of pharmacy services- Work with patients, providers, and insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations- Answer phones and notes from physicians in a timely manner- Accurately read, interpret and enter prescriptions in a timely manner- Prepare medication orders and deliver prescriptions according to established policies, procedures, and protocols- Accurately type, bill and prepare prescriptions to extent allowed by state and federal rules and regulations- Perform basic calculations to determine doses and correct day supplies to be billed to 3rd party insurance companies- Perform necessary calculations to accurately prepare a compounded prescription
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent, required- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team, required- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, required- Current registration as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with The State Board of Pharmacy, preferred- At least two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience, preferred- Prior retail Pharmacy Technician experience, preferred

Prescription data entry, prescription filling, insurance billing, communication skills, schedule flexibility and availability, team work.
