Description & Requirements
The Broad Institute has played a pivotal role in mapping the genetic basis of disease, and developed operational frameworks and software platforms to engage patients through web-based study recruitment. At the Broad, we collaborate with world-leading technology, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies as well as philanthropic organizations and provide a vibrant environment with close links to top academic and industry institutions across the Boston area and the world. Together, these activities make us a leading organization at the intersection of clinical and data sciences.
The mission of Count Me In (CMI) is to harness the transformative power of patient voices in addition to their clinical information, biological samples, and experiences to inform the next frontiers of science. At CMI, we build technological and scientific capabilities for patient-centered research to tackle some of the most critical rare diseases and cancers through the lens of hundreds and thousands of patients living with them.
Together, Count Me In and the Broad are well-positioned to lead the next phase of transformation for cancer and rare disease clinical research and discovery by building a scalable and sustainable direct-to-patient platform, powered by data and alliances, to connect patients with the research options available to them.
Juniper is Count Me In’s flagship direct-to-patient software product, and supports its mission by:
• engaging and empowering participation in research;
• supporting research administrators with study and data management capabilities; and
• connecting researchers directly to data through the Broad’s cloud-based Terra platform.
We are looking for a talented and motivated product leader to join our team. This person will be responsible for synthesizing the needs and goals of various stakeholders into a highly engaging product platform. They will work closely with our head of engineering and cross-functional scientific teams while championing the development and maturation of Juniper.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for user engagement and data, and be experienced with the integration of multiple platforms. Success will be found through experience in product development and market research to understand various and changing needs. They will enjoy working in a collaborative, location-flexible, team-based setting and interacting with people at other institutions around the world. They will have good attention to detail and take pride in the software produced. They will thrive in a collaborative scientific research environment and be motivated to contribute to it.
