Consistently enhances the technical quality of developed software and the technical proficiency of developers.• Oversees and enhances the maintenance of program libraries and technical documentation. Ensures that the sufficient technical documentation exists for optimum system development and the technical development of software developers.• Optimizes the planning, scheduling and implementation of more junior developers. Resolves planning, scheduling and implementation issues.• Consults with users concerning maintenance of the software system and supervisors more junior software engineers concerning maintenance of the software system. Consults with business analysts, project managers and other stake holders in the development of new software and supervisors more junior developers in their consultations with stake holders. In addition oversees and enhances the overall process and methodology employed by software developers.• Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as requested. In addition, directs others on special projects and the performance of other duties.Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.• Should have a long background in the development and maintenance of large business software systems. This should include experience in the major softwares and environments used in the ICT.• Requires experience in the major softwares and environments used in ICT.• This position may require travel at various times for conferences, education, etc.• This position requires the ability to constructively train, mentor and advise other software engineers and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues at the system level.• Expert hands-on experience using the major development tools of ICT.• Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus.• Expert experience maintaining, developing and trouble-shooting large, complex systems, with special technical acumen in the resolution of difficult design and performance issues.• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.• Must be proactive, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.• Must have the communication skills , both verbal and written, to keep the development staff informed of new technical advances, enhanced processes and methodologies and to coordinate these with stake holders.About UsWhy Crawford?Because a claim is more than a number — it’s a person, a child, a friend.
