We are currently hiring an Principal Project Manager who will lead/oversee major deployment programs while working with internal and external partner groups to create and achieve strategic business goals. Your objective will be to organize the overall team, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and create a high-level workflow plan while developing and managing the master schedule.
In this role, you will manage objectives and influence teams without direct authority, while gaining support and maintaining schedule velocity. You will also leverage product, project, technical and investment steward leadership to ensure the project success. You will be comfortable in ambiguity and an advocate for improving program efficiency and finding ways to scale the team.
You will manage all aspects of projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. You will also be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of control projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget. Where is the work:
Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
• Review project proposals or plans to determine a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
• Drives fundamental activities from concept to performing as pertains to: Risk, Issue, Change Mgt, Resource Allocation, Resource visibility and reporting with key stakeholders.
• Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
• Motivate a team to work together (w/o direct authority) towards a common goal and to achieve co-operation within the team while providing professional support, and ability to delegate with respect and ownership.
• Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Analyze project proposals to determine a time frame, funding limitations and appropriate processes for accomplishing projects.
• Review/approve the work plan of an external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute the project.
• Implement a project communication plan.
• Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
• Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization.
• Generate Cost to Benefit Transparency & Visibility across all work.
• Ensure that project goals are in line with business objectives.
• Ensure that project goals are achieved.
• Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
• Review status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules or plans as required.
• Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
• Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
What you will bring:
• BS or MS in relevant Engineering Fields. MS, MBA or Advance Program Management Accreditation preferred.
• 5-7+ years of project/program execution.
• PMI PMP Certification required.
• New Product (Design, Test, Supplier Readiness & Mfg Integration) Experience preferred.
• Project portfolio, prioritization and demand management optional.
• Scrum | Agile Methodology experience preferred.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams, leading people. Organizing, developing and motivating a team.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $120,000 – $159,000
Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
