Position Summary
This role is a US Payroll Tax Analyst (BA) in our Global Product Development group, supporting the US. The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure that our customer’s SAP/RSITE Tax Engine is compliant with the various legal requirements published by legislative entities.
Business Analysts combine in-depth product expertise with the latest tax and regulatory changes to provide input to user stories through system impact analysis, participate in solution design, and offer test strategies and acceptance criteria for the scrum team in an Agile environment. The position will follow each tax and regulatory change from discovery through successful translation into an application update, ensuring the result is a potentially shippable increment. This role is vital in providing high quality deliverables to our clients and keeping their mission critical enterprise applications in compliance. This role reports directly to the Sr Manager Business Solutions, SAP/RSITE North America.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of US Payroll Taxes
• Demonstrate proficiency in Payroll from a business perspective and as an end-to-end process
• Supply subject matter expertise in how US HR/Payroll legislation related to payroll tax is set up, calculated, and reported in SAP
• Provide in-depth functional knowledge of large-scale ERP applications (preferrable SAP) across multiple releases to support payroll tax calculations
• Ability to work within the Rimini Street Agile framework, participate in scrum ceremonies, accept feedback from Scrum Master, Product Owner, and scrum team members
• Assist the Product Owner in preparing prioritized stories in the backlog for product backlog refinement with the scrum team
• Actively participate in scrum activities and ceremonies
• Assist the scrum team in evaluating and breaking down user stories to ensure timely deliverables of legislative changes to clients
• Convert Business Requirements describing a legislative change into functional specifications/product requirements, which outline how RSITE and SAP will be configured and/or developed to support the legislative change
• Work closely with the development team to ensure adherence to the acceptance criteria by providing system/process knowledge expertise, assist with testing, and perform demos of the completed product to the Product Owner and stakeholders
• Ensure total product compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations through the analysis of each tax and legislative change and provide functional information detailing the impact to a specific SAP/RSITE Tax Engine application
• Work with team to ensure high quality deliverables – assist team with test strategies, review test plans, perform system tests
• Provide end user documentation that is client-facing, with an appropriate level of content for clients to understand the legislative change, system business process impacts (ready for use by the sales and marketing team)
• Assist with or produce client educational information, presentations, webinars, etc., using a variety or tools and communication modes
• Assist with client case issues from troubleshooting through resolution

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• FPC, Certified Payroll Professional, or equivalent
Experience
• Experience (5+ years) SAP HR/Payroll or other large scale ERP system with integrated US Tax Calculations
• In depth understanding of payroll in US from a legislative perspective and understanding how a payroll department works and what the payroll department expects
• A record of successful roles in multiple Enterprise Application projects (including full development and full QA lifecycle processes)
• Ability to work closely with the Global Tax & Regulatory team to ensure the accurate transfer and understanding of all critical information relating to each tax and regulatory change
• Ability to work closely with development to ensure adherence to functional specifications and to work with QA team to develop high level test plans and test strategies
Skills
• Proficient in developing Business Analysis and Functional specification documentations from regulatory and tax data
• Ability to explain payroll processes and calculations independent of ERP system
• Ability to manually calculate US Federal, State, and Local Taxes correctly without software or online calculator
• Experience preferred in the support of US SAP HR/Payroll operations
• Strong analytical skills
