Overview
The objective of this position is to be responsible for accounting, reconciliation, and auditing of payroll and payroll taxes, and to perform related accounting duties that ensure the payroll and accounting department operate in a cohesive manner. The position will report to the SVP of Accounting & Finance.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for running and validating the daily Workday payroll funding file. Provide the file to Treasury for transfer of funds from properties to the Central Payroll Operating Account (CPOA).
• Reconcile the CPOA daily.
• Research out of balance 401k liability accounts with Empower.
• Research and provide guidance on any property payroll accounting feeds that are out-of-balance with cash funding.
• Assist with preparing and filing the yearly 8027’s for all applicable properties managed by Davidson Hospitality Group.
• Assist pulling payroll wages by department for annual workers compensation audits.
• Ensure all off-cycle, on demand checks are accounted for in the proper payroll registers.
• Provide weekly benefit amounts to Treasury to transfer to appropriate vendors.
• Bill out payroll arrears deductions to properties.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of payroll, debits and credits, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
• Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
• Experience with Workday HCM preferred
