Utz Quality Foods is seeking an Organizational Effectiveness Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Organizational Development, this position will be responsible for the assessment, design and facilitation of overall team effectiveness, including employee engagement initiatives, operational goals, and organizational culture. The OE Manager oversees the performance management process and will identify core learning requirements and areas for performance enhancement, crafting comprehensive learning and development strategies to ensure sustained growth and success for Utz and our associates. This is a remote position with travel required as as needed.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience, along with Master’s Degree or higher in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Leadership Studies, and 5 years of overall Human Resources experience. Professional Certifications including a Learning and Performance (CPLP) from ATD or equivalent, Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP), Certified Organization Development Practitioner (CODP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate an expertise in designing and implementing development programs, policies, and strategies, the ability to interpret performance metrics and utilize data to make informed decisions, be knowledgeable in change management, employee engagement, development, and retention. Have exceptional collaboration and communication skills, encompassing presentations, facilitation, written content, and be proficient in influencing leadership and managing multiple priorities with a detail-oriented approach.
Organizational Effectiveness Manager
• Collaborating with the Learning and Development, the Organizational Development Manager, People Leaders, creates training and development strategies and implementations that align with company objectives that meet both individual and team needs.
• Explores and enhances internal and external training opportunities for associates.
• Oversees the performance management process. Ensures that the performance review and talent review processes are comprehensive and constructive, allowing for employee growth and development.
• Develops playbooks focused on performance management such as 1:1 meetings for People Leaders and their direct reports, leadership, and coaching practices.
• Provides change management and organizational effectiveness consulting support to the team.
• Assesses and forecasts specific needs through surveys, interviews with associates, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, associates, and vendors.
• Assesses, designs, and facilitates team effectiveness interventions.
• Contributes to employee engagement initiatives, such as a formal mentorship program; operational goals; and organizational culture, finding answers to what motivates employees.
• Conducts workshops, training sessions, and seminars to facilitate continuous learning within the organization.
• Develops and implements metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives and to provide lifecycle insights from onboarding and retention practices to offboarding.
• Provides insights into process improvements, driving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stays current with the latest trends and best practices in employee development and performance enhancement.
• Advocates for a culture of continuous improvement and excellence throughout the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the Company’s objectives.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Master’s Degree or higher in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Leadership Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) from ATD or equivalent, Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP), Certified Organization Development Practitioner (CODP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience:
• Program Design and Execution: Hands-on experience in crafting impactful organizational development programs aligned with business outcomes.
• Data-Driven Initiatives: Expertise in leveraging analytics to guide and refine organizational development activities, ensuring alignment with business insights.
• Executive Collaboration: A history of productive partnerships with senior leadership, including presenting strategic insights and recommendations to C-suite members.
• Project Management: Proven track record in steering large-scale organizational projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
• Team Leadership: Established background in guiding and nurturing teams, particularly within the HR or Organizational Development sectors.
• Strategic Development: Experience in assisting to form business objectives into actionable organizational development projects.
• Organizational Insight: In-depth experience in diagnosing organizational challenges and rolling out effective interventions, with a focus on driving tangible business results.
• Change Management: Solid history in anchoring and directing change initiatives, ensuring they resonate with and are embraced by the broader organization.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for data analysis and presentation.
• Design methodology expertise for workshops, focus groups, and engagement surveys.
• Creation of competency development frameworks and documentation.
• Comprehensive talent, succession planning, and career pathing strategies.
• Proficiency using LMS platforms to track and manage organizational training initiatives.
• Proficiency using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
• Knowledge of instructional design and training methodologies suitable for both online and offline sessions.
• Proficiency in setting up and managing feedback tools and surveys.
• Knowledge of lean methodologies or other process improvement frameworks.
• Expertise in change management combined with critical thinking and innovative solutions.
• Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of organizational, people, and cultural dynamics. Understands the needs of the goals of the organization and how different parts of organizations affect each other.
• Adaptable consulting and proactive approach to scoping, diagnosing, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
