About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a Network Interdisciplinary Engineer to join us.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Interdisciplinary Engineer resource will be responsible for the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Provide network and system support including installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network devices, networked servers, and peripheral devices.
• Perform installation and initial configuration of a variety of IoT devices to ensure reliable and secure operation consistent with MPA requirements.
• Coordinate, stage, and implement the upgrade of IoT devices in close coordination with MPA support personnel.
• Assist and/or support Help Desk technicians on daily tasks. Recommend procedural improvements as needed.
• Coordinate changes with MDOT Enterprise to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
• Develop scripts for various purposes, including but not limited to retrieval of device status, retrieval of operational parameters, enforcement of configuration parameters, implementation of automation purposes.
• Develop standard operating procedures to maintain and update inventory data.
• Investigate operational problems and other anomalies. Collect data to corroborate analysis results.
• Collect data to evaluate system performance, provide performance assessment results, corroborate evaluation statements, propose remediation activities as applicable.
• Collect data from a variety of monitoring tools to identify issues, document monitoring inconsistencies, and formulate potential root causes.
• Troubleshoot and maintain network fiber and copper links and coordinate associated improvement projects.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:
• The resource assigned to this position must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with field activities in environments like those encountered at MPA Terminals is highly desirable.
• The resource will be on call 24×7 to provide support as needed. The assigned resource must be reachable and able to assist and/or coordinate support for timely resolution of reported incidents and emergencies.
• The assigned resource must have their own transportation and valid Driver’s License and, after starting, be able to obtain:
• TWIC – Transportation Workers Identity Card – https://universalenroll.dhs.gov/programs/twic
• Port Badge and Vehicle Decal for un-escorted access to MPA secure locations, and ‘escort’ privileges to escort MPA visitors as needed.

Field work may require presence at all MPA Terminal locations (in the same geographical area)
