Transitions works in a strengths-based, culturally relevant, and co-occurring friendly manner with participants. The program utilizes many principles of the Transition to Independence Process model that engages youth in their own recovery process towards healthier expressions of their lives. Service delivery is a collaborative process, helping participants to co-create their short- and long-term goals. We provide community-based services, meeting participants in environments where they feel most comfortable. Services are designed to meet TAY where they are, using modalities and interventions that TAY can relate to, including engaging youth in a nonjudgmental, conversational style of communication, and discussing topics that are relevant to TAY. Services place much emphasis on building a strong therapeutic alliance with our participants in order to foster the most effective outcomes.

What You Will Do
The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing clinical assessment (i.e., diagnosis, behavioral health assessments, client plan and progress notes) through a trauma-informed lens, therapeutic based services, and case management to a diverse population of at-risk youth, young adults, and families.
Shifts Available
Full Time – afternoon and evenings required. Work is primarily in person community based clinical services, office and remote based and telehealth is an option depending on participant and family needs.
Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $33.03 and $53.80 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):
• M.A. Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Registered associate (AMFT or ACSW, or APCC with relevant experience with target population) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Some programs may consider candidates who are able to obtain registered status within first six (6) months after hire. (If working in a program licensed by Community Care Licensing must meet minimum training and experience requirements – for more information please see http://www.cdss.ca.gov/cdssweb/entres/pdf/CCR/STRTP_ILS.pdf )
• Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods for target population of program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk assessment, including danger to self or others, and effective community-based interventions.
• Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
• Clean driving record: current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hired.
• Must have access to dependable transportation; personal car insurance meeting minimum liability coverage required if position requires driving for work or transporting participants.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation systems.
Preferred
• One (1) year graduate school or post graduate experience with program target population (Example: intellectually disabled, homeless, teens or young adults, seriously emotionally disturbed).
• Applies a strength-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and flexible approach to supervision, participant and community service, in order to support participant recovery, health, and wellness.
• Exhibits strong behavioral, crisis management and family/individual/group therapy skills.
• Fluency in prevailing language(s) of the community.
