We are seeking a detail-oriented and communicative Medical Billing Specialist with experience in the medical-legal field. The ideal candidate will have a background in billing for workers’ compensation and personal injury cases, along with a proven track record of managing claims and denials.
Job Details
As a Medical Biller, You Will
Accurately code and bill medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies.
Work with medical records, coding systems, and various billing software programs.
Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 and other coding systems.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper in a timely manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, resolving any billing discrepancies or issues.
Communicate with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding and billing practices.
Collaborate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Handle other needs related to the billing department as they arise.
Job Requirements
Must reside in Pennsylvania.
Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role.
Knowledge of the medical-legal/accident & injury space.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and medical billing processes.
Familiarity with medical records management systems (EHR) and billing software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers.
Time management skills to process and send out claims efficiently.
Authorization to work in the US.
Background check required upon hire.
Schedule
Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Compensation
$19-25 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge.
Healthcare allowance stipend to choose your own healthcare plan from the marketplace.
2 weeks of PTO, starting after 4 months (prorated, following a 90-day probationary period).
3 additional paid days for sick/doctor/mental health-related purposes.
Paid company holidays (6).
