What You Will Do
The Materials Control Lab Supervisor is responsible for managing the entire quality engineering process of assigned parts and supervises the Material Control Lab (Materials Testing, Chemical, Thermal Calibrations, TCG, and Records Retention)
• Supervise hourly non-exempt employees on assigned shift; mentor and develop hourly non-exempt employees
• Respond to technical and process concerns/issues; review process changes or conformity to requirements; coordinate and perform root cause analysis to solve manufacturing process issues
• Facilitate and prepare for external audits; work with customers regarding quality concerns
• Participate on cross functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership
• Update and track the performance of incoming and outgoing specimens
• Review of engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria
Qualifications You Must Have
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials, program/project management, operations management or quality environment or an Associate’s degree and 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials, program/project management, operations management or quality environment
• In absence of a degree, 6 or more years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials, program/project management, operations management or quality environment
• Specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE); Value Stream Mapping, 6S – Workplace Organization, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Total Productive Maintenance and Mistake Proofing
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
• Prior supervisory experience
• Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
• Experience with SAP and other IT Quality systems
• Thorough understanding of audits and audit preparation; ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data to provide guidance to cross functional teams
• Experience with dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation, and/or GD&T
• Knowledge of Document Control and Calibration systems; ability to query data from database systems; knowledge of process control technologies; able to interpret manufacturing drawings

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD – 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
