We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our clients team in Aitkin, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks and railcars, ensuring that all operations are conducted with an emphasis on safety and quality service. As an important member of the team, you will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of their distribution center. This is a temp to hire position.
Work Schedule:
• Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Occasional overtime during the busy summer months.
Responsibilities:
• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned areas.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Minimum of one year of recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Proficient and safe operation of forklifts to transport products and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, etc.
• Basic math skills required.
• A safe work record and stable work history.
