DescriptionGibbs & Cox, a Leidos Company, has an opening for a mid-Level Marine Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week of onsite support at the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Baltimore, MD.Primary Responsibilities• Evaluate effect of new or modified subsystems on overall system performance.• Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (EC’s).• Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.• Conducting analysis and design of auxiliary systems. Depending on engineering background of candidate, the appropriate systems assigned may include one or more of the following: HVAC&R systems (including heating/cooling load, duct sizing and chill water piping calculations and equipment selection), auxiliary systems, power monitoring and control systems, electric propulsion, and power generation.Basic Qualifications• U.S. Citizenship and must have an active secret clearance or be eligible to be granted one.• BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine degree from ABET accredited institution (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering).• Minimum of 3 years’ documented experience relating to the design of marine systems.• Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards.Preferred Qualifications• Active Secret Security clearance.• 3 years or more of applicable specialized field experience.• Additional certifications, such as PE License, PMP, DHS Systems Engineering Certification, or DHS Program Management Certifications.• Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.Original Posting Date:2024-05-13While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 – $117,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
