TECHNOLOGY PURCHASING AND CONTRACT MANAGER:
The LA28 Technology team is responsible for both IT for the organization and technology equipment and services to enable the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Within the Technology team, the Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for technology procurement, contract execution and renewals, purchasing, budget management, operational readiness, and project and program management.
The Technology Purchasing and Contract Manager will report to the Sr. Director, Technology Program Management and serve a key role in managing the large volume of purchasing and contract management required for successful technology delivery.
Beginning as a nimble startup, LA28 will evolve into a multi-billion-dollar organization within the next four years. We are looking for a proactive leader with keen business and technical acumen. As our Technology Purchasing and Contract Manager, you will need an ability to implement processes and structure in a fast-paced environment, an exceptional ability to foster relationships, and the financial foundation to manage spend and meet delivery needs. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead contract management, including procurement activities, contract and NDA establishment, contract tracking, negotiation, and administration
• Researching, analyzing, and organizing technical or complex contract specifications, and scopes of work
• Working with technology leads for an overall successful procurement/purchasing process and establishment of an effective contract
• Actively seek and engage with diverse suppliers to create a more inclusive supply chain.
• Interpreting existing contracts and correctly managing renewals and change requests in the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system
• Monitoring contract compliance and adherence to appropriate reporting requirements including monitoring variable costs
• Creating purchase orders (PO’s), managing existing PO’s, initiating PO change requests, create receipts for equipment, and reviewing invoices
• Planning for upcoming equipment purchases to ensure bulk ordering and price discounts where possible
• Maintain asset tracking, receipt of equipment, and adherence to sustainable practices in disposal and purchasing
• Provide reports to sustainability team as needed and ensure efficient tracking to enable sustainability reporting
• Manage supplier onboarding including requesting new supplier set up and serving as the main point of contact for supplier on administrative and invoicing matters
• Track spend to budget across all technology areas and work with technology leads to forecast remaining spend for each fiscal year
• Work closely with Finance on expense reporting, tracking, and forecasting
• Contribute to lifetime budget planning, including cost and volume estimation
Background & Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience in purchasing, contract management, procurement, vendor management, expense management, or financial operations.
• Experience in purchasing/procurement in one of the following areas: IT, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or Application Development.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and executing a high volume of contracts and/or purchase agreements
• Expert at optimizing performance and terms from suppliers
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve issues efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve common goals
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Experience working within a complex, cross-functional organization
• Fluent working with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel
• Experience with Smartsheet a plus
• Experience working in a Contract Lifecycle Management System preferred
• Experience working in an ERP system required, experience with Workday preferred
• Ability to implement and manage change effectively

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 – $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
