Job Summary
The Manager-Physician Practice II has an increased scope and span of control over Practice Operations.
Responsible for the daily operations of the physician practice to include the provision of quality services to patients, the promotion of teamwork among the staff, maintenance of the building and equipment, compliance with all applicable policies and procedures and operating within the approved budget.
Accountabilities
• Coordinates and directs the daily operations of the practice including the development, implementation, and maintenance of department policies and procedures. Interprets, implements and educates employees on all practice policies and procedures, as well as hospital policies and procedures. – 10%
• Identifies problems and needs by daily rounds and recommends operational changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. – 10%
• Manages human resources including hiring, orientation, training, discipline, and dismissal of staff. – 10%
• Monitors staffing levels in relationship to workload and makes adjustments as appropriate. – 5%
• Assists staff in developing goals and objectives for individual professional growth and demonstrates effective leadership techniques to enhance productivity and employee morale. – 5%
• Ensures problems, complaints, and regulatory violations are investigated and appropriate action is taken to resolve the issue within the requested time frame. – 5%
• Maintains medical records that are legible, accurate, accessible and confidential. - 5%
• Establishes and maintains appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of employees, facilities and equipment. – 5%
• Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
• Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent. Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related – Preferred
• 5 Years – Clerical experience in a healthcare setting. Must include 2 years at a lead/coordinator level in billing, admissions, scheduling, and/or medical records. Prefer 1-2 years at a management level.

In Lieu Of
• Bachelors degree (Business Administration or related) and 2 years at lead/coordinator level in healthcare billing, admissions, scheduling, and/or medical records.
• For internal Prisma Health candidates: In lieu of 5 yrs. clerical experience in a healthcare setting = Bachelor D. plus 2-yrs. Prisma Health experience in Mgmt., Finance or Operations.
