Job Summary
Under the direction of the Imaging Manager, site-specific Lead Tech or Radiologist, the Mammography Technologist performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency. Accountabilities
• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.
• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images.
• Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.
• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Certification program – Radiologic Technology

In Lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, team members in this job as of 11/08/2020 are grandfathered from the minimum requirements listed above pending state and regulatory requirements.

SCQRSA License
BLS
ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Prior Radiology experience preferred
Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
Basic computer skills
