CoreCivic is currently recruiting for a full time Maintenance Coordinator to join our Community Corrections team in Denver, CO.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Coordinator, Community Corrections is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair and upkeep of the facility’s building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds. Supervises and schedules work for maintenance staff and residents assigned to maintenance work projects. Responsible for tracking and timely completion of all work orders; notes deficiencies on daily inspections. May also be designated the facility Fire/Safety Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Establishes maintenance standards by developing, maintaining and/or following a schedule of periodic preventative maintenance for the equipment at the facility.
• Reviews maintenance work order requests to diagnose problems and recommend cost-effective and quality repairs for the operation of the facility.
• Determines work assignments and schedules for maintenance worker(s). Participates in hiring, training, preparing written performance evaluations, resolves disputes or issues and takes corrective or disciplinary action as necessary.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Performs routine inspections of the facility for regulatory compliance, safety, maintenance, completion of work orders and related issues. Directs corrective action for problems detected.
• Inspects for items that could be used as contraband or weapons by residents. Provides for the secure storage and/or safe disposal of tools, supplies and equipment. Maintains a current tool inventory and oversees proper use of equipment.
• Participates in planning, such as in-house work plan for maintenance and repairs and, if applicable, renovations and new construction. Reviews utility usage and determines methods to conserve utility resources. Confers with other department heads to coordinate maintenance activities or needs of individual departments.
• Orders and approves purchases for supplies, equipment, parts and other maintenance materials within the guidelines of the facility purchasing procedures.
• Monitors and inspects maintenance work performed by staff, and projects accomplished by outside contractors, for compliance with building codes, blueprints, manuals and other applicable procedures or specifications and to determine that workmanship and materials are in compliance with current building standards.
• Monitors safety practices and the preparation and dissemination of safety and accident reports as required by policy. Takes appropriate action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.
• Reads, comprehends, analyzes and interprets legal and non-legal documents, such as maintenance and construction contracts, technical procedures, governmental regulations, manuals for equipment, drawings and blueprints.
• Domestic U. S. travel may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent
• Four years of experience in general construction or plant/institutional maintenance
• Additional qualifying education or technical training in a maintenance or construction-related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Years of Age
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Extensive knowledge of building construction and the operation of building systems
• Experience with an Enterprise Asset Management system
