Summary
Maintains financial institution loan records by: (1) the timely and accurate input of loans, advances, and payments onto the loan system; (2) the daily remittance of participation transactions; (3) the proper processing of all non-accrual and charge-off transactions; and (4) ensuring daily balancing of all loan accounts. Trains and assists lesser experienced employees in the unit.
Job Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three to four years of loan operations experience preferred.
• Good understanding of loan application policies and procedures, as well as documentation required by government regulations preferred.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Good computer, keyboard, and software application (Microsoft Word and Excel) skills.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
• Inputs all new, renewal and participation loans into loan system, as well as modifications to existing loans.
• Processes all non-accrual and charge-off entries to loans.
• Processes advances, loan payments and loan maintenance by either preparing necessary paper transactions or by direct input to the loan system.
• Handles all rate swap correspondence with customers and originator, as well as wires for rate swap payments.
• Corresponds with participant banks and processes all participation transactions and remittances.
• Completes credit confirmation inquiries.
• Handles recordation of mortgages and UCC filings for new collateral, to ensure proper lien perfection of bank’s collateral security.
• Responsible for initial input loan file ticklers and exceptions.
• Balances various loan general ledger accounts on a daily and/or monthly basis.
• Mails daily loan notices and statements to clients.
• Responsible for gathering internet payment information from Dimension and Check Free and posting to loans.
• Works daily reports such as clearing loan un-posted items, resolving errors which may cause loans to stop accruing, etc.
• Processes Risk Rate Change forms which could upgrade, downgrade or various other changes.
• Provides assistance to less experienced as well as train new employees.
• Reviews loans that were booked to verify accuracy.
• Help with special projects when needed.
