Job Summary

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• Shows proficiency in accomplishing and documenting focused assessments accurately, providing clinical interventions, evaluating outcomes, and executing modifications to the care plan jointly with RNs/providers.
• Appropriately prepares to take care of the patient by participating in pre-visit planning and preparation as applicable.
• Abides by departmental regulations and the finest practices of medication administration when administering and documenting medications.
• Executes nursing protocols and remedies within the limits of responsibility prescribed by the nursing department’s regulations and policies.
• Displays the required skill and judgement to implement physician orders, nursing protocols, and medical interventions.
• Illustrates proficiency in conducting comprehensive assessments, applying appropriate clinical interventions, evaluating progress, and adapting care plans with the assistance of RNs/providers.
• The assistant is responsible for gathering critical data during the assessment phase, including chart review, observation, and audits, which are conducted with the appropriate age-specific criteria.
• A critical aspect of the nursing assistant’s job is to aid in the ongoing nursing process: assisting with patient assessment, collaborating on care plans, and evaluating nursing interventions’ effects.
• Give out pre-printed patient educational materials that are permitted for circulation. Reinforce health education and discharge notes provided by RN/provider and direct any related queries to them.
• Helps drive departmental progress by engaging in meetings, committees, and education/training initiatives.
• Collaborates with other team members to ensure new clinical staff members are supported throughout the onboarding process.
• Guarantees patient record documentation is precise, well-defined, and succinct according to defined roles and duties.
• Any other chores as given.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education – Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certification – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing
Preferred:
Experience – 1+ years of Healthcare Experience
Physical Requirements:
The position necessitates very heavy exertion, entailing the constant application of force in excess of 25 pounds and frequent movement of items weighing over 50 pounds.
