VIQ Solutions is a leading provider of transcription services in the midst of the technology-driven workflow revolution in legal and judicial agencies. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates to assist in transcribing depositions and hearings. This role is fully remote and open to Independent Contractors.
What You’ll Do
• Transcribe depositions, hearings, and various judicial proceedings with extreme attention to detail.
• Process audio recordings in adherence to style guides for accurate verbatim transcripts.
• Have the flexibility to set your own schedule with guidance available from our in-office team.
• Weekend availability is a plus as we have work available around the clock.
Requirements
• Experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription.
• Excellent listening skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong literacy skills with a focus on comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in typing speed and accuracy.
• Capability to handle potentially offensive audio/text content.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
Equipment Needed
• High-speed internet and computer/laptop.
• Noise-canceling quality headphones.
• Windows 10 operating system.
• Antivirus program with daily updates (except Webroot antivirus).
• Infinity Foot Pedal (recommended).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
