Job Description:This position is accountable for leading, overseeing, and achieving the goals of the EMS ground transportation team. This position will ensure that service delivery consistently meets or exceeds Intermountain Health’s standard of providing extraordinary care and superior service.This role is primarily accountable for supporting the EMS ground transport team of the Peaks region of Intermountain Health, located in Colorado. Additional responsibility for system input on ground EMS strategy as the service continues to grow, to include some participation on the creation and execution of a community paramedicine program.Pay range for this position is $38.02-67.53 per hour.This position is eligible for a 4% leader incentive bonus.ScheduleThis position is primarily M-F 8am-5pm, but is expected to be available as needed as a service line director.Job EssentialsThis position oversees and ensures that the ambulance fleet assigned to the department is managed and maintained according to established company standards. This position is also responsible for any applicable department facilities and their maintenance, cleanliness, and organization. This position is responsible for the utilization and effectiveness of emergency radio systems and communications technology required for EMS staff.This position will ensure knowledge of and compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing EMS operations. This position will ensure that accurate department records and reports are maintained and submitted to regulatory agencies as required. This position will use critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret data to guide strategic decision making.This position will be responsible to collaborate and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, agencies, and stakeholders to maximize and improve the performance of the EMS department. This position will oversee and participate in community outreach efforts to strategically grow and enhance the EMS department.This position coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by the EMS department and investigates and resolves any customer/field personnel complaints in accordance with policy. This position assures proper maintenance of clinical records and patient electronic records.This position may be required to provide clinical patient care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines of the department. These clinical care expectations may vary based on the business needs of the department.This position executes on Talent Management for EMS staff including such things as staffing, mentoring, engagement, training, development, and performance review.This position provides financial oversight of the EMS department to ensure sound financial management and cost-effectiveness in meeting department goals.Minimum QualificationsValid state driver’s license.Current valid EMT or higher ambulance attendant license in state of practice.Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medical Services protocols, regulations, and accountabilities.Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform data analysis and generate reports.Demonstrated leadership experience with the skills to effectively lead and manage a team.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and EMS operations.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.Current valid Advanced EMT or higher ambulance attendant license in state of practice.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support and International Trauma Life Support (PHTLS/ITLS) certifications.National registry license.Ten years of experience in ground transportation operations.knowledge of EMS ground transport organizations. Strong leadersihp that can make culture change. Professionalism and commands respect.
