Job Description
An IT Business Analyst & Relationship Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships across internal business units, external vendors, and cross-functional technology teams with the goal of encouraging efficient workflows that optimize technology and deliver business value. This role is designed to bring value to our organization through the convergence of different functions. As an IT Business Analyst & Relationship Manager, you are a strategic partner who shares ownership for both organizational strategy and value results, developing a deep understanding of business units’ output and throughput, interconnectivity between business units, workflow, and system dependencies.
Having the ability to identify and communicate technology needs and value-based solutions to mitigate risk and bridge the gap between technology and business needs is essential. By understanding the relationship between IT and business units across the enterprise, the IT Business Analyst & Relationship Manager will help increase the value realized from IT assets, investments, and capabilities ensuring utilized technology systems are documented, managed, controlled, and optimized to achieve business needs.
The IT Business Analyst & Relationship Manager will drive the prioritization of technology projects, ensuring projects enable and drive strategic initiatives of the business unit and maximize return on investment while aligning key initiatives with the organizational technology strategy of the enterprise, prepare cost-benefit analyses for projects, and assist business unit stakeholders in prioritizing projects across their technology portfolio.
This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities at once. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and curiously seeks to understand business and operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Partner with leaders both inside and outside the organization to collaborate and ensure meaningful results from our strategic initiatives
• Optimize organizational technology and help to innovate processes to achieve value impact
• Proactively sense and anticipate changes affecting strategy in the environmental landscape including organizational improvements, technological advancements, and evolving organization needs
• Develop deep domain knowledge of your partner’s organizational functions
• Build cross-functional relationships for the convergence of value
• Partner with leaders to identify opportunities to evaluate, sequence, and shape initiatives for strategic value
• Focus on value over solutions; emphasize value when developing ideas, evaluating risk, and evolving needs
• Adapt to an evolving culture, build partnerships, and drive value to satisfy and elevate our organizational purpose
• Monitor initiative progress to ensure expectations are aligned with results and ultimately value
• Advocate as a champion of change for your partners’ strategic plans
• Facilitate goal setting by communicating a shared purpose specifically shared values, beliefs, and behaviors
• Strategize with partners to develop future roadmaps and explore new opportunities; converging organization-wide strategic direction into one set of objectives
• Serve as a liaison who synchronizes the work of multiple teams, staff members, or external contacts
• Act as a trusted advisor and key point of escalation
• Monitor and analyze business performance, identify areas of improvement, and develop plans to address weaknesses
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant functional experience in IT
• 3+ years of experience championing organizational change, e.g., leading initiatives, products, services, or interactions
• Knowledge of project management in relation to the delivery of IT services
• Knowledge of ITIL practices
• Experience leading IT projects and/or staff
• Experience supporting business cases (i.e., case for change) for C-level staff
• Experience with applications and products such as Office 365, Barracuda, Fortinet, Cisco, and HP
• Experience with common line of business applications such as payroll systems, HR systems, and an understanding of general and emerging IT technologies such as the Microsoft Power Platform, Security best practices, etc.
• Experience assessing and articulating business risk
• Experience in conflict resolution and problem-solving
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Preferred qualifications:
• Consulting experience in IT Managed Services
• Experience working within a multi-disciplined, cross-functional technical organization with matrixes reporting relationship
• Bachelor’s Degree
