• Job Summary
• The HVAC Technician II is responsible for proficient maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing, and safety inspections. This position will follow the tasks laid out by the HVAC Tech Lead and Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. Works proactively to recognize and correct all potential discrepancies related to the mechanical systems throughout the facilities. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and is able to complete work assignments. The HVAC Technician II may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields
• Experience
• Required: 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/mechanical/electrical work
• Skills
• Proficient Communication skills.
• Ability to prioritizing workload.
• Proficient knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
• Proficient knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure.
• Proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs.
• Demonstrates proficient technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas:
• Interior Finishes
• Millwork adjustments and hardware
• Doors, frames, and door hardware
• Plumbing and fixtures
• Electrical wiring, devices, lighting and motors
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
• Medical gas and vacuum
• Refrigeration units and ice machines
• Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers
• Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels
• Chilled water and condenser pumps
• Hanging mirrors, pictures, documents and decorative items
• Furniture repair and refinish
• Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Required: Active Driver’s License
• Required: STI Fire Stop Certified (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified) must be obtained within one year of hire
• Preferred: State License for HVAC Technician and/or some form of MEP Certification from an accredited trade school. Such examples include but are not limited to Vatterott College and Ozarks Technical Community College
• Preferred: Refrigeration or Welding Certification
• Preferred: Operation of a fork-lift
