The role you’ll contribute:
This is an advanced level position that performs all HIM clerical job functions and processes rejected orders, suspension, and/or duplicate and unlinked medical record numbers in the electronic medical record and may assist with release of information requests.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
• Accurately processes rejected orders in a timely manner and re-assigns to the correct provider to authenticate electronically in the EMR and assists with physician suspension accordingly.
• Processes duplicate and unlink medical records in a timely manner to ensure the integrity of the master patient index in the EMR.
• Ability to perform all HIM clerical job functions according to qualitative and quantitative standards and fill in based upon business demands.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and written, stay organized and demonstrate effective time management skills.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of health information management experience in an acute care setting or progress towards a RHIT, RHIA or progress towards a healthcare or business college degree program with relevant related experience; experience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health information systems and applications.
