At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions’ Technology department.
Primary Responsibilities
• Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software
• Installs and configures systems and other software
• Tests installed software for malfunction detection
• Identifies and resolves business systems issues
• Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
• Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
• Develops and implements strategies to improve systems
• Monitors and tests system performance
• Typically has full ownership of a process
• May act as a procedural expert
• May lead the work of junior level associates
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience

We are looking for an experienced Back-End API Developer who is high energy and loves to work in a fast-paced digital environment. Comfortable and able to thrive managing time and development on multiple projects in parallel.
• Work within a team of Software Developers to support, create, and enhance financial applications
• Design, document, code, and unit test applications following both traditional and Agile SDLC
• Provide programming expertise within an assigned business unit/area
• Formulate and define application scope and objectives
• Devise and modify procedures to solve business problems
• Follow coding best practices, standards, and architectures for relevant technologies
• Main technology point of contact for line of business
Preferences
• Experience with (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, REST Services)
• Experience with source code repositories (Git, TFVC, Github Enterprise)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts
• Ability and desire to learn new technologies
• Understanding and experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment
• Understanding and experience with Containerization (Docker)
• Experience with .NET Core
• Experience with IIS
• Experiencing documenting REST APIs with Swagger
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Previous experience in the financial industry
• AWS Development Certification and experience
This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary location being Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
