Key Responsibilities:
• Serves as the UAL liaison with the FAA (AFS-205) to maintain Flight Simulator and Training Device (FSTD) FAA qualification
• Coordinates updates of the FAA required Simulator Quality Management System (SQMS) policies, procedures of process contained in the SQMS manual as appropriate Performs SQMS liaison with internal UAL qualify/safety audit groups and the FAA National Simulator
• Program (NSP) and FAA Principal Operations Inspector (POI) in regards to SQMS reporting, overseeing scheduling and the conduct of FAA annual FSTD Continuing Qualification (CQ) evaluations
• Performs required correspondence with the FAA concerning FSTD discrepancies including Missing, Malfunctioning or Inoperative (MMI) issues, or other FSTD health reporting
• Maintains UAL FSTD statistical monitoring programs tracking department FSTD reliability and availability metrics
• Conducts internal FSTD “How Goes It” quality audits as part of the FAA approved SQMS program
• Ensures continued FSTD user compliance with the FAA approved Simulator Quality Management System program for the Flight Training Center
• Oversees required/desired SQMS process improvements as identified by internal or external quality system audits
• Coordinates the FAA testing and approval of FSTD modifications, FSTD relocations, and Initial, Continuing or Special Qualification testing evaluations in accordance with 14 CFR part 60 and the SQMS program
• Directly represents United Airlines with the FAA for required Flight Simulator and Training Device evaluations
• Coordinates with Flight Simulator Maintenance and Engineering Supervisors to assign and schedule necessary FSTD maintenance or engineering assignments, updates and/or inspections
• Responsible for the Computer Based Training Programs development, maintenance and delivery through Company learning systems and the electronic recording of training completion
• Performs required correspondence with the FAA and simulator manufacturers and suppliers
• Coordinates the FAA testing and approval of FSTD modifications, relocations and initial qualifications of devices

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Maintenance, or a related field or 4 years of relevant work experience
• Minimum 4 years demonstrated ability to interface with technical work and work groups in the operation and maintenance of commercial flight simulators
• Working knowledge of FAR 121 flight crew training and 14 CFR PART 60
• Minimum 4 years experience operating under an FAA approved SQMS program under 14 CFR PART 60
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Access
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
The salary for this position is $104,000 to $140,800 dependent on job-related, equal opportunity factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.
