Project Overview:

Bechtel Enterprises is the project development, investment, and financing arm of Bechtel. We develop projects, lead M&A and project acquisition activities, provide project financing services, and invest in the development of new technologies across power, energy, transportation, communication, and other sectors. We have developed or co-developed over 70 projects ($46 billion in project costs) and have helped arrange over $54 billion in financing for Bechtel projects. Bechtel Enterprises is currently comprised of approximately 50 professionals with headquarters in Reston, Virginia and offices in Sydney, Perth, Singapore, London, Houston, New York and Washington, D.C.
Job Summary:
You would be an Associate reporting to the Managing Director, Energy, M&T and Financial Partnerships. Your team will engage on a range of assignments supporting Energy and M&T-related work. Additionally, your team will support an initiative to more closely connect BEn and Bechtel to sources of equity capital, namely private equity, infrastructure funds and sovereign wealth funds. Examples of activities could include supporting new market assessments, identifying and evaluating new development prospects and financing opportunities, assessing potential financial partnerships, project development, Bechtel equity investments, project financing, M&A and other commercial activities.#LI-HB1
Major Responsibilities:
• Support the evaluation of priority markets, potential project development opportunities, and potential financial partnerships in collaboration with BEn colleagues and business unit teams.
• Financial and economic analysis of potential projects, new markets, new technologies, potential partners, competitors, and M&A targets to evaluate profitability, risk, and other factors.
• Support project bids and potential financial/commercial partnerships, including preparing qualifications and proposals, reviewing commercial agreements, and analyzing potential financing, development, and partnership structures.
• Support project financing activities including financial modeling, commercial structuring and negotiations.
• Analyze commercial terms and conditions in order to provide recommendations to business units to enhance competitiveness and/or mitigate risk.
• Develop relationships with counterparts in relevant business unit(s) to understand their business and where BEn can add value, be seen as a trusted partner, and share knowledge.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
• MBA or other related Master’s Degree preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Demonstrated interest in international business and infrastructure financing and development
• Candidate is expected to have a command of finance theory and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical issues and decisions in business
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other quantitative analysis tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization, networking and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform quantitative analysis independently is critical
• Self-starter with eagerness to help Bechtel identify and seize new business opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Foreign language skills and work experience in multiple countries are beneficial
