PTS Advance has an immediate need for a Field Safety Coordinator at a local refinery in Commerce City, CO. This position will provide Safety Coordination with necessary services pertaining to Health, Safety and Environmental for the execution of capital projects and major maintenance in a refinery setting. Local Candidates preferred.
Responsibilities
• Health and safety oversight of construction related field activities, personnel, engineering, and construction management
• Provide guidance on Regulatory and company policies & Procedures, rules, and OSHA & CalOSHA laws
• Initiation and implementation of programs, processes, and directives as they relate to team and site safety
• Reporting to several layers of organizational structure, including department, project-specific, engineering, project managers, leadership, as well as contractor companies
• Develop and deliver training in multiple avenues (in person, demonstration, computer based, etc.)
Key Experiences
• Experience in building, implementing, and growing safety programs and safety culture
• Knowledge of behavior-based safety programs and the ability to track, trend, and communicate leading and lagging indicators
• Knowledge and experience in Root cause analysis, causal factors, lessons learned, accident & incident investigations
• Experience in construction trades and hazards as the pertain to crafts and industrial refining complexes
• Experience in Turnarounds/ shutdowns, or similar environments
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years within the industry or relative field experience
• BS or AS working towards Bachelor’s degree preferred
• HSE/ Safety certifications (NCCER, BCSP, or equivalent preferred)
• Experience in material management, field engineering, construction coordination, tradesperson, or other similar preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Skill in Public speaking
• Strong Communication skills, reporting, and follow up.
