Overview:
Adam Lippes is seeking talented, motivated students with an interest in fabrics and raw materials to assist our downtown Manhattan studio. Joining us for a full season, interns will get the chance to observe a collection from start to finish. Working within the fabrics manager and design team, we seek a quick learner who can work alongside the team from initial research and development to sampling. Interns benefit from a small, close-knit working environment along with local sampling, sourcing, and production of garments; allowing them to see all aspects of what it takes to create a collection
Qualifications:
• Current student or recent graduate in textiles, fashion or a related field
• Required: Proficient in Adobe Suite (Emphasis on photoshop and illustrator)
• Strong interest in fabrics, print, textiles, and fashion design
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required
• Must live in NYC area and be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days a week
Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain fabric and material samples, sample sheets, and pricing headers
• Keep the fabrics and design boards up to date
• Fabric swatching in the garment district
• Keep track of and check in fabric rolls
• Track and document fabric orders and deliveries
• Editing/working on print files and creating print boards
• Creating seasonal color palette
• Organizing fabric rolls in the atelier
