Commercial Real Estate Women’s Washington, DC Chapter (“CREW DC”) seeks an outstanding leader to serve as Executive Director and oversee Chapter operations. The ideal respondent will have experience in managing a complex membership organization. The successful respondent must be an excellent communicator and external facing leader with the ability to move the Chapter forward and adapt to a changing commercial real estate environment. Reporting to a 14-member Board of Directors, the Executive Director develops and recommends to the Board those policies, plans, and programs that will effectively meet the needs of the membership, and that will enhance the growth and reputation of CREW DC. Each year, the Chapter brings on new leadership and the ED manages through that change. The Chapter is an organization of volunteers and relies on volunteer efforts to achieve its mission.
CREW DC is part of CREW Network, a global organization that is committed to strengthening and expanding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout our global organization. CREW Network was founded in 1989 to bring together women in commercial real estate to exchange information, develop business contacts and help each other succeed professionally. Today, CREW Network is a premier business network dedicated to accelerating success for women in the industry globally. CREW Network has 80 chapters and approximately 15,000 members globally.
In addition to leading CREW DC’s operations, the Executive Director also will be the face of the Chapter and the liaison to the CREW Network, as well as CNCC (CREW National Capital Committee), a collaborative coordinating body of regional chapters—Baltimore, Northern Virginia, Maryland Suburban, and Washington, DC.
The management of the Executive Office is to include the Executive Director role and administrative support, which can be fulfilled by an individual paired with outsourced support or by a team. However, teams interested in responding will be required to assign a single individual for the Executive Director role and provide information about that individual in their response. Currently the Executive Office is fulfilled by an Executive Director and Administrative Manager that is approximately 2 FTE, but CREW DC is open to alternate structures. The Executive Director is expected to be a full-time position and the selected respondent will be considered an independent contractor; as such, any individual retained in the position will not be eligible for employment-related benefits. CREW DC values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
Proposal Responses will be received until 5:00 PM EST on Friday, June 21, 2024. Proposals arriving after the date and time specified may not be considered for evaluation.
