Responsibilities
Daily Tasks:
• Deliver food, beverage, and non-food items to dining locations/buildings within and outside NYIT’S Old Westbury and NYC campus.
• Daily delivery to Residence Hall off campus to bring supplies and food to the location. This will be done on weekends as well.
• Successfully organize and execute daily catering deliveries.
• Read and understand instructions noted on Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Ensure all necessary event items are loaded on the truck before delivery is made.
• Manage all catering orders that come in by ensuring they are being delivered to the appropriate locations by the requested times.
• Complete logs and other necessary documentation with the direction and supervision of the Campus Dining management team.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries along with the Campus Dining management team.
• Responsible for upholding organization and inventory of paper goods, plasticware and other items required for catering.
• Notify Campus Dining management team when inventory of items or equipment is low or damaged, including dry goods, beverages, equipment, disposables, linens, etc.
• Train and develop part-time drivers in the proper delivery policies of the Campus Dining Department including putting orders together; filling out checklists appropriately; handling the equipment properly, etc.
• Manage Campus Dining laundry drop off/pick-up.
Customer Service:
• Adhering to the departmental etiquette policies.
• Ensure that personalized greetings are used with all customers according to contact information on the BEO.
• Handle customer complaints using the L.A.S.T. method, and reporting applicable comments to management.
• Maintain uniform according to Uniform Policy.
Driving:
• Manage all Dining Services vehicles to ensure inspections are up to date, and trucks are routinely serviced.
• Follow campus rules for speed limits, signage, walkways, etc. to maintain a safe environment for faculty, staff, and students.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization for all vehicles at the end of each shift.
• * Adhere to weekly schedule set forth by Culinary Operations Manager
• Time sheets and oracle time must be filled out on the last day worked and submitted.
• Must be able to work in other areas on campus as needed, such as DeSeversky Mansion, all campus cafes, kiosks, food trucks, and any/all special events on or off campus.
• Must be able to work in other positions, such as utility, server, attendant/cashier, as needed should employees in those positions not be able to work due to vacation, sickness or personal time.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays, as needed.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements: (High School or Equivalent), plus one to two years’ experience in a commercial kitchen setting, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Possess a clean and valid Class “A” NYS Driver’s License.
One year food service/beverage delivery experience.
Ability to work flexible hours which may include weekends, holiday and evenings.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift an average of 35 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to perform basic math skills.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND STRESS.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
