Tabor Academy seeks a compelling and passionate educator to serve as Director of Student Activities in the Office of Student Life and Strength and Conditioning Coach. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive activities and programming for grades 9-12. The position will report directly to the Director of Student Affairs and Director of Athletic Programs and will work in partnership with the full Student Life Office, Athletics and Co-Curricular departments, faculty, staff, students, and families to provide relevant and positive experiences across campus. As a residential school, Tabor considers the work of faculty broadly, and we engage with students before, during and beyond the academic day. This position will contribute to all three seasons of the athletic program for strength and conditioning, potentially mornings and afternoons, and be responsible for weekly evening and monthly weekend supervisory duties. This is a full-time exempt position and may include housing and residential program responsibilities accordingly.

General responsibilities as the Director of Student Activities include, but are not limited to:
• establish and oversee the Student Activities Committee
• develop, plan, research, and organize weekly weekend events with the Students Activities Committee
• establish weekend faculty teams by appropriately assigning duties in coordination with the Chief Employee Engagement Officer (CEEO)
• communicate weekly with the full community on the final activity plan and overall weekend schedule
• coordinate with the dining hall, facilities, and IT to arrange for appropriate various needs for the weekend activities
• maintain inventory of the student life supply closet, submit purchase orders as needed and liaise with external vendors.
General responsibilities as Strength & Conditioning Coach include, but are not limited to:
• establish and maintain a strength and conditioning program for all sports at all levels
• establish a program for all community members that is focused on life-long health and wellbeing
• improve athletic performance, reduce athletic injuries, and teach lifelong fitness and movement skills
• devise training plans according to sound scientific principles, supervise all training sessions, evaluate athletes, maintain records and teach strength and conditioning classes
• meet regularly with head coaches to discuss the goals of each program and its athletes
• conduct regular meetings with athletic training staff to review PT needs and plans for injured athletes
• establish policies, plans, and procedures for the safe and professional operation of the facility
• maintain and monitor the weight room and be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; must be CSCS certified
Preferred: Experience in secondary or post-secondary instruction and/or in residential oversight.
