Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineer, the Director of Engineering will provide engineering leadership and support for the successful development and execution of the annual capital plan. You will improve technical solutions and provide leadership to project management teams/managers. Develop and direct technical business strategies to support overall our goals. Partners with stakeholders in Supply Chain and external groups to deliver site and business platform objectives. Provide technical leadership, direction and advice to R&D, Supply Chain Quality, Marketing, and other leadership. Responsible for 5-10 internal manufacturing plants plus external co-manufacturing sites within a platform.
Position Responsibilities
• Lead technical solutions within the Engineering organization and provide leadership to project management teams/managers responsible for development and execution of project safety, scope, cost, spending forecast and schedule (from concept to initial production) of multi – discipline capital programs and projects with primary emphasis on business platforms.
• Direct reports include: Project Leaders, Engineering Project Managers, Engineers and dual/dotted reporting of manufacturing facilities Plant Engineering Managers (20 – 30 Direct and Contract personnel)
• Foster an environment of Diversity & Inclusion that attracts, retains and develops top Engineering talent.
• Direct all project management, engineering, construction management, and cost control resources to support business platform strategies (Direct Annual platform capital budget $50mm – $100mm).
• Direct and deploy the managerial and technical leadership necessary to provide the highest project management effectiveness to support our business strategies and add the highest possible value.
• Direct and control the deployment of innovation, capital programs and projects at platform manufacturing and co-manufacturing facilities to improve performance in safety, reliability, product quality, productivity, and capacity.
• Interact with all levels of management within the business organization to establish strategic direction and priorities and works with Plant Managers and Operations leaders.
• Outside of the organization you will have frequent interaction with top management of equipment and material vendors, engineering consultants, and installation contractors.
• This position is located in Omaha, NE/Chicago, IL or select field locations and involves communication and coordination with all business platforms. You will travel to, and working in, manufacturing facilities in North America. This includes travel to vendor facilities, construction sites, system startups.
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical ).
• Minimum 10 years practical experience in Food Manufacturing, Packaging Technologies and Project Management. Engineering Leadership from either Food & Beverage, or other CPG, FDA, USDA related manufacturing companies will be considered.
• Experience explaining technical requirements to a non-technical audience
• Experience leading, directing and managing technical teams and disciplines and capital budgets in a multi-site manufacturing organization is necessary .
• Experience developing and managing capital budget of at least $10 MM
• This position is located in Omaha, NE/Chicago, IL or select field locations
• You will be asked to travel up to 50% within North America.

Compensation:
Annual Base Salary: $126,000.00 – $186,000.00
The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
