Overview
This is a Hybrid role that can be based in NYC (by our NY office) AND/OR based in St. Pete – Tampa (by our St. Pete office)
We are looking for a passionate and talented individual to join the Global Merchandise Strategy and Operations team at Foot Locker Inc. As Director, Global Merchandising Process, you will leverage your critical thinking and problem solving skills as you work closely with the business to deliver capabilities and solutions that enable efficient and effective execution of their business strategies.
The role will require a thoughtful approach to problem solving, an analytical and strategic mindset, and the ability to work cross functionally across a large matrixed organization. Communication and influence are key components of success as is fluency in the business process, technology, change management, and training.
Responsibilities
This role is accountable for leading the team that will deliver, support, and optimize business processes and system capabilities within the Merchandising organization. The functional scope includes assortment planning, merchandise financial planning, inventory management, pricing, and merch operations for sku creation and PO management. As the leader of the Global Merchandising Process team, you will:
Advocate for the business:
• Listen and engage with buyers and planners to understand pain points and priorities
• Seek broad functional business perspective and buy-in
• Help articulate pros/cons, alternative options, and implications; anticipate future requirements
• Communicate key decisions to leaders at all levels
Engage in Process Definition:
• Active participant in project activities and deliverables, gaining an understanding of the new systems and future state processes
• Help define the future state processes for the global organization, connect the dots across functions and geographies
• Engage across the business and related functions to ensure alignment; bring in subject matter experts when required
• Maintain a broad functional view, understanding upstream & downstream impacts
Support Change:
• Identify significant changes to the organization and assess overall impacts
• Participate in the development of communication plans, lead communication sessions
• Identify ways to drive process improvements or user adoption based on knowledge of the organization
Drive Business Engagement and Adoption:
• Ensure the business is appropriately engaged in projects
• Develop and deliver end user training
• Provide support to the business during key rollout periods
Optimize and Sustain the Capabilities:
• Evaluate, measure, and monitor processes to ensure business needs are met and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Lead process improvement initiatives in alignment with leadership priorities
• Manage development and delivery of strategic initiatives in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, merchandising or similiar majors required.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant retail experience specifically in merchandising or planning process either in a functional role or in a project-oriented support role
• Experience in leading and developing teams
• Strong personal commitment to quality, service, and teamwork
• Ability to establish relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies
• Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while remaining organized
• Ability to problem-solve, manage to deadlines, and complete in-depth analysis to support decision making
• Experience managing resources in a matrix organization

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $130000 – $155000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
