Overview
The Director, Global HR Operations offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the HR Operations function within a manufacturing company specializing in distribution transformers. This critical role will be responsible for building and leading the Total Rewards, HRIS and Analytics, and Compliance/Audits functions from the ground up.
Responsibilities
• Establish the HR Operations function and implement strategic HR operational plans that integrate compliance, HRIS analytics, systems, and total rewards with the company’s overarching goals.
• Ensure all HR operations adhere strictly to legal and regulatory standards, updating protocols as necessary.
• Manage and optimize HR Information Systems (HRIS) to support strategic decisions and operational efficiency. Design a competitive and equitable total rewards strategy to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
• Promote collaboration across compliance, HRIS, and total rewards teams for a unified HR operations approach.
• Create and regularly update HR policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and support strategic objectives.
• Lead the HR operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging professional development.
• Identify potential risks within HR operations, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
• Manage vendor relationships and HR technology systems to ensure they meet the organization’s needs and enhance operational efficiency.
• Champion the use of data and analytics in HR decision-making, ensuring accurate reporting and insights into HR performance.
• Utilize HR operations to improve the overall employee experience, streamlining processes from onboarding to benefits administration.
• Oversee the HR operations budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and align with strategic priorities.
• Continually assess and refine HR operations processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.
• Serve as a strategic advisor on HR operations matters, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR operations or a similar role, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience in the Human Resources field. Advanced degrees or certifications in an HR-related field is a plus.
• Proven track record of managing HR functions within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in HRIS and other HR technologies.
• Experience in developing and implementing HR processes and policies.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of recruiting and developing top talent.
