Identify user needs to design, build, and administer databases. Create and maintain reference data and implement direction over how particular query or market events should be treated if anomalies are observed through system processes. Serve as a subject matter expert on data setup and maintenance. Manage real time data quality issues. Perform critical functions for corporate action processing, new series setup, ready for business checks and analysis, incident management, and vendor oversight. Serve as the escalation point in case of outages. Responsible for product data, flow of data in the firm systems, and impact of poor quality data. Work on root-cause analysis of data quality exceptions performed to determine trends in the data and identify inaccuracies in external data providers’ feed. Recommend opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity.
Salary
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,899.00 and $140,899.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a AVP Operations, Director Operations, Assistant Manager Operations, or related. The employer will accept a 3- or 4- year Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field of study. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, or training.
Requires five (5) years of experience with: Working with financial products reference data; re-engineering existing data processes to decrease manual touch points, strengthen overall controls, and mitigate risks; managing product reference data processes; processing of corporate actions, including cross verifying events and exchanges from vendors, reconciling discrepancies; managing new products on-boarding requests using knowledge of contract and product specifications; facilitating post-production check outs on the go-live data; providing vendor management and oversight; and gathering information and expectations, discussing challenges, and designing solutions to improve processes by implementing effective controls.
