The Opportunity
We are the market leader in software products and services for the creative & marketing ecosystem with Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Express, Firefly and Experience Cloud.
Adobe has made industry-leading progress in addressing the enterprise need for new, scalable ways to create ideas and assets with genAI-infused workflows and products. Adobe Digital Media’s recent launch of genAI-powered products for enterprises including: Firefly Services (APIs), Firefly Custom Models, Object Composites, Style Kits and unique AI features within flagship products like Adobe Photoshop, Express and Illustrator.
We’re looking for an outstanding Director of Engineering, Creative Enterprise Product to lead the development, planning and delivery of products that span genAI features & products, creative workflows, APIs & shims, customization of GenAI Firefly models, etc.
Reporting to the VP, Creative Enterprise, a successful engineering leader will thrive in a “start-up” 0-1 environment, embrace extreme customer orientation, be passionate about delivering delightful, scaled creative production experiences, flexibly execute while utilizing repeatable engineering process, and deliver on-time and with quality.
What you’ll do
• Lead engineering strategy, management, and execution.
• Partner closely with product management, design, technical program management, and customer functions (pre-sales, post-sales)
• Define a clear & committed product engineering roadmap.
• Establish key engineering processes, hygiene, backlog management.
• Drive objectives and key results to measure the success.
• Spot risks, find opportunities, articulate implications, translate insight into fast-cycle action
• Continuously learn and confirm/adjust decision-making using data-driven insights
• Lean into “customer engineering” for alpha/research and frequently interact with customers to deeply understand customer context (e.g., alpha research, sales, customer success, prototyping)
• Technically evaluate creative enterprise product and workflow prototypes using knowledge of creative production, Adobe APIs, external APIs, and customer needs
• Present to Digital Media and Adobe leadership on new innovations, progress, landscapes
What you will need to succeed
• 10+ years of demonstrated engineering management leadership in fast-moving, technically oriented environment.
• Experience in creative workflows, API/developer experience, GenAI /ML, enterprise software
• Proven experience in a ‘start-up’ or ‘0 > 1’ scaling environment; Founder-mentality
• Extreme passion for solving customer problems
• Excellent “connector” of people, ideas, activity
• Outstanding analytic, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to context switch across products, projects, and customers
• Work across other internal engineering and research teams to imagine and build prototypes using existing and new available technologies.
• Ability to working autonomously, manage through influence and deliver on-time with quality
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $173,300 — $344,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
