Description
Bollinger Motors is seeking a Suspension/Brake Design Release Engineer (DRE). This position reports to the Mechanical Director and is an in-person role at the company’s Oak Park, MI headquarters.
Essential Duties & Release Responsibilities
• Manage product engineering, design and release for Body subsystems – includes Steering, Front and Rear Suspension systems, sway bar, suspension hangers and brackets, Frame and cross members, and the Brake systems.
• Manage and work with all castings and stamping of different parts throughout the engineering process.
• Champion engineering deliverables – DFMEA / DVP&R / PFEA / Control Plan
• Plans for parts and assemblies timing alignment with overall program timing plan and containment strategies when necessary
• Create / Review / Approve 3D CAD & 2D Drawings – collaborate with interfacing subsystems on a regular basis.
• Perform CAE Analysis regularly.
• Own and maintain engineering bill of material for responsible parts – develop, release and ensure data completeness and accuracy.
• Track and resolve any performance issues during testing.
• Dimensional Management and Dimensional Checking (GD&T) experience required.
• Support Vehicle Launch
Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field required.
• Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems.
• Ability to Verify design using analysis and or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions, and assess risk.
• Experience with Root cause analysis (ex: 8D) required.
• Take responsibility for accuracy of detail drawings directly or as collaboration with designers.
• Vehicle launch experience strongly preferred.
