By joining the Division of Information Systems/Information Technology Branch/Development Section as a Database Analyst IT in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a knowledgeable team in our Development section to support agency software database applications. As a team you will work on a wide range of projects that will expand your knowledge in Information Technology. You will learn various troubleshooting techniques to identify and fix multiple issues. You will work closely with agency staff in training how to fix and prevent issues.
Holders of the Database Analyst IT position will complete tasks such as:
• Utilizes standard Structured Query Language (SQL) tools; develops and writes applications to interface with SQL and Oracle databases, as well as write and test code for reporting and data maintenance in reports and support of Tools for EEC Applications. Development often consists of tables maintenance, storing procedures, views and functions.
• Serves as project leader and provides analytical support to Information Management in the integration and design of large-scale development projects including the integration of existing Microsoft Access and Excel macro enabled applications into existing EEC databases.
• Serves as lead in the support and technical point of contact for Division projects including as a backup in the support for existing EEC applications; Analyzes user problems and makes recommendations for solutions.
• Manages IT Projects Assigned by the Office of Administrative Services and communicates with staff on important IT Issues affecting the departmental database and related IT projects
• Performs other duties as assigned
Holders Of This Job Will
• Analyzes requests for Information Technology (IT) development and prepare long range information technology plans across the Energy and Environment Cabinet
• Provides support for existing legacy databases and assist in their integrations into existing EEC databases (SMIS and Tempo)
• Uses PL/SQL in the development of views and stored procedures in the development of reports
• Develops Serves as Project Leader for IT related projects initiated in the Division
• Candidate will be trained in the support and troubleshooting of Reports tool, TEMPO and other applicable software.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in computer programming or systems analysis.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis. A master’s degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and/or computer operations will substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis. Experience in business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis.
