We are seeking a Database Administrator in our Clarksburg, MD Campus.

Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance and availability.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Ensure the security of database systems and protect sensitive information.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery plans.
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Perform regular database capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies and methodologies.
• Execute additional tasks and projects as required by your manager, ensuring they are completed professionally and within deadlines.
• Ability and Knowledge to support and maintain Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 software environment.
• Document all work in the required ticket system.
• Maintain platform support for a Windows software/Server environment.
• Ability to support and maintain other tools as needed.
• Responsible for the configuration and management of the storage systems related to databases and other applications you may support.
• Increase day-to-day operational efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts.
• Research and recommend creative methods for system administrative tasks.
• Potential to work from home two days a week after probationary period.
• Works under general supervision.
Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship Required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire.
• 3-6 years of related IT work experience.
• 2 year IT degree preferred.
• Background in technical troubleshooting of user support issues.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in database management such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience with Database High Availability and Fault Tolerance.
• Experience with server operating systems including Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
• Knowledge of Storage technologies and data backup technologies involving SQL.
• Knowledge of authentication and Identity in and out of the Microsoft world.
• Experience utilizing a ticketing system.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of networking principles.
• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor in order to interact with a variety of positions and levels within Thales as well as candidates and external contacts.
• Able to grasp new concepts quickly.
• Ability to work and ensure strong and undisturbed access to database.
• Possess the skills to create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
• Proficient oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in working with PowerShell, Power CLI, and Windows batch scripting.
• Experience with supporting and maintaining SQL backups.
• Involvement with project management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
• Experience with SQL using hyper-converged and cloud architecture.
• Knowledge and practice with storage area network operation and maintenance.
