Summary
The candidate will work in Metrics, Analytics, Reporting and Solutions (MARS) group as part of the Data Science Team. The candidate will focus on a variety of Data Science projects across the board leveraging data from multiple internal R&D Systems and external Data Vendors enabling Data Driven culture across all R&D. The candidate will develop data science models and AI/ML tools enabling proactive risk monitoring, pattern detection and predictive analytics. This is a very technical role, and we are looking for a candidate with strong technical acumen and passion for data science and AI/ML programming.
Responsibilities
– Data Analysis
o Apply descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to inform business decisions throughout all stages of clinical study.
o Translate data analysis output into formalized messaging, insights and actions and communicate effectively to stakeholders.
o Design AI/gen-AI tools to translate natural language into data queries (i.e., AI chat with relational database) to support business decision intelligence
– Forecasting
o Build advanced statistical models and tools to support Forecasting, Resource Allocation and Timeliness of clinical trial operational progress and milestones.
o Develop state-of-art AI/ML algorithm to predict the outcomes such as the number of sites activated, and the number of subjects enrolled
– Competitive Intelligence Benchmarking
o Analyze trial-related data to support external benchmarking studies as well as driving the internal communication using respective data outputs or tools.
o Extract insights from publicly available data to inform trial planning.
o Create technical means to identify new patients and sites using Real-World Evidence or epidemiology data
– Risk Management Data Surveillance
o Develop a centralized mechanism to analyze, alert predict the site-, country-, study-, and portfolio-level risks issues for ongoing and future clinical trials.
o Design AI/gen-AI tools based on LLM framework to automate document review, prompt risk assessment, and inform early intervention for ongoing clinical operations
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
– Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Data Science or related discipline from an accredited university required
– Master’s Degree preferred
Experience Qualifications
– 4 or More Years 3+ years of experience required as a Data Scientist in Pharmaceutical Industry/ Health care or equivalent working with Clinical Trials Operational data / Real World Data required
– Excellent knowledge and experience of coding in Python, R & R Shiny preferred
– Strong experience in building supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods and deploying them into production (i.e., regression models, random forests, decision trees, NLP, clustering etc.) preferred
– Strong Experience with data visualization tools preferred
– Ability to explain tough technical insights to non-technical stakeholders preferred
– Strong problem-solving skills preferred
