The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is seeking highly motivated data scientists with a PhD in a relevant science discipline and a strong background in computational sciences or data management/informatics. These positions offer unique opportunities to explore and contribute to groundbreaking science data management techniques and research, working in collaboration with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) under the NASA Office of the Chief Science Data Officer (OCSDO) and supporting NASA’s Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT).
Key responsibilities will include creating new capabilities for data management practices by applying advanced tools, analytics, and AI/ML techniques; cultivating and managing scalable policies for successful data stewardship in accordance with FAIR principles; and performing basic research to innovate methods of data management using algorithms and AI models. A strong record of publishing papers, data, and code is highly desirable.
