The Raytheon Analytics and Automation (AA) organization is looking for a data engineer for our Data Services teams. Within this role, the data engineer works closely with the solution architects to understand the available architecture building blocks, product-team’s domain and collaborate on MVP solutions to quickly solve business problems. The primary responsibilities of the data engineer will be to perform full data lifecycle development activities, follows and contributes to the recommended data architecture guidelines and the department’s best practices and design standards. The data engineer provides feedback regarding architecture challenges and risks, helps address technical issues, provides technical mentorship to peers, and ensures quality and acceptable performance is delivered in the final solution.
What You Will Do:
• The data engineer role is expected to perform multiple development tasks and technical guidance for the full data development lifecycle.
• As a Data Engineer, design and implement data solutions encompassing data analysis, ETL development, hosting, modeling, integration, consumption methods such as creating views and APIs.
• Obtain and document customer requirements, perform data analysis.
• When appropriate provide technical mentorship and guidance to developers within their agile team.
• Establish and promote standards, patterns, and principles within the data team.
• Participate in code peer reviews.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads and Solution Architects across teams to share experiences, identify gaps and help facilitate and support our current and future data needs.
• Participate in the Agile planning events and ceremonies to foster technical discussion with their development team and product-owner, participate in story breakdown and acceptance criteria.
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Typically requires bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience is required.
• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering role
• Experience with Snowflake, Matillion, SAP
• 5+ years’ experience in writing SQL
• 5+ years’ experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
• 5+ years’ experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ETL tools such as Matillion.
• Experience creating and optimizing data models, pipelines, architectures, and complex joins and data sets.
• Experience developing in cloud platforms such as Snowflake for Government or AWS GovCloud.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
• SAP ERP at an enterprise scale.
• Informatica PowerCenter.
• Self-service tools such as Alteryx Designer, Tableau, PowerBI, BusinessObjects, Databricks
• Basic understanding of data science concepts.
• Experience with near real-time data replication within Cloud platforms.
• Experience with DevSecOps process and associated tools.
• Python, Java experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong business acumen, critical thinking, and ability to work across functions through collaboration with business partners.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
