The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in our Door Division, ensuring accurate cost accounting, financial analysis, and budget management. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly in a manufacturing environment. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing production costs, preparing reports, and supporting the financial health of our door fabrication operations.
• Analyze and report on production costs, material usage, labor expenses, and overhead.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency and production performance.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Work closely with production managers to develop accurate cost estimates and financial projections.
• Track and report on budget variances, providing insights to management for decision-making.
• Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
• Provide financial support for capital expenditure projects and investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
• Assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics)
• Experience in ERP implementation with a strong preference for Microsoft Dynamics
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
