Summary
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to building and facilities construction projects. Responsibilities may include development of the contracting strategy, project scope, schedules, approval requirements and project budgets. Manages design output, design budgets and performance management of the architectural and engineering vendor. Assures accuracy of financial forecasts with tie-in to project schedules. Manages the indirect budget, forecasts trades resources, resolves resource conflicts and coordinates trades mobilization. Engages in contract negotiations, incident investigation, staff safety training and project assessment. Ensures projects are completed according to project plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Procurement, coordination, and execution of construction projects generally ranging up to $250 million in value individually. May be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Write and manage all contracts with subcontractors
· Independently create and maintain detailed project schedule with logic. Coordinate timely schedule updates with leadership team for management of overall project schedule
· Assure adequate manpower based on projections and analysis at varying stages of the project; adjust projections based on actual progress
· Oversee the safety plan; set safety culture at jobsite
· Cost management, including monitoring of job profitability, forecasting, projections, and reporting
· Manage project managers, engineering and field work providing project management oversight
· Identifies and implements innovative building technologies to improve quality, reduce delivery time and enhance the end product.
· Foster a collaborative working environment with government agencies, design team and subcontractor(s) to insure timely resolution of field conditions
· Interface/coordinate with the entire project team, internally and externally, to facilitate teamwork and promote customer service
· Develop collaborative & positive relationships with client’s Project Managers
· Implements business practices, metrics, and procedures to assure total quality of facility design and facility construction
· Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and collaborate closely with the finance department to uphold project execution within budgetary bounds. Facilitate transparent and open communication among project teams, stakeholders, and contractors. Regularly furnish external clients and senior management with updates on project progress and potential roadblocks.
You Must Have
· A bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field with 7 + years’ experience.
· Ability to travel 20% of the time.
· Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
· Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
· United States Citizenship.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
