Something that I love about my job is just getting to see all the growth that happens. I think a big part of that is because I started as a supplemental Child Life specialist and going into it I didn’t really know what to expect. I didn’t really know what the hours were gonna look like but I’m so glad that I was able to start a supplemental because I love that Sacred Heart sets aside specific hours and shifts for supplementals. It’s not just covering vacations like some hospitals do. You actually have specific shifts that are only for supplementals. So, like I had as many hours as I wanted right when I started and that was really helpful. And I think that just being able to grow in skillset and confidence and getting to learn all the different areas of the hospital that we provide care in I think set me up so well to go into my budgeted position little over a year later. And I just love being able to see all the growth opportunities that come up for myself and the rest of my team.

CNA 2 – Medical Surgical 2E Unit at Providence Medford Medical Center. This posting represents a .9 FTE, night shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

Extra Incentives:
• Night shift differential – $4.00 p/hr
• $4,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment

In this position you will:
• Contribute to a high functioning team
• Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
• Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
• Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
• Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference
• Other duties as assigned

The Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2) assists a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.

Required Qualifications:
• Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course, or CNA 2 coursework: Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements.
• Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualification:
• One (1) year experience as a CNA 2.
