Clinical Dietitian – Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation

This PRN position will provide coverage at the two locations in Hampton Roads. The majority of shifts are located at Maryview Medical Center, with occasional shifts (in-person and/or virtual) at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
POSITION SUMMARY
• Assists in the development and implementation of Cardiopulmonary programs, growth strategies directed towards increasing client volumes and market share for nutrition.
• Ensure the highest level of clinical care and operational efficiency, and ensure program integration within the Bon Secours system.
• Using the nutritional care process, the incumbent is responsible to screen, assess, plan, and provide for nutritional care and education to patient populations serviced. Will develop and implement community nutritional education programs as necessary, geared towards target markets. Will also develop and implement the nutritional component of regional specific sports performance and fitness programs.
• The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing nutritional care to patients in compliance with hospital, CMS, and The Joint Commission standards and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Graduate of a four-year accredited program in Clinical Nutrition or Dietetics with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Completion of an internship approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Registered Dietitian eligible.
• Additional training and/or experience in Cardiac Nutrition and Wellness preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in outpatient nutrition or Master’s degree preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Develop and oversee nutrition programs in coordination with client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition care of patients/ clients.
• Participate in marketing for individual and region. Coordinate collateral development from the clinical perspective with marketing as needed.
• Provide and supervise the nutrition care for clients and to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company.
• Manage and promote food and nutrition programs as well as develop nutrition resources for nutritional education according to Bon Secours standards and policy.
• Oversee the provision of education and outreach to various organizations and community partners regarding nutrition related issues and information as required with program growth.
• Provide nutrition care/Medical Nutrition Therapy for physician referred patients/ clients including screening, assessment, intervention, and follow-up care to ensure patient nutrition needs and customer satisfaction level are met. Provide documentation and charge submission through the electronic medical records system as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Bon Secours/client policies and procedures.
• Participate with marketing initiative to local physicians regarding counseling opportunities as well as sports performance opportunities at Bon Secours locations.
• May include facilitating the assessment, counseling, education, and development of individualized plans for patients with diet and weight related concerns, including weight loss and weight gain issues, nutrition for optimal cardiac health.
