Job Description:
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at East Carolina University seeks an eligible candidate to help provide clinical service to the Medical, and Cardiac ICU, as well as the pulmonary, critical care consultative services. Other duties may include outpatient care of pulmonary patients. This individual will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows. The successful candidate will join our academic group at a rank commensurate with qualifications; tenure track or fixed-term appointment available at the rank / title of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.This is a flexible position which allows for participation in other academic, research and clinical pursuits. The Division is clinically productive, highly respected and actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows through our affiliation with a single 974-bed tertiary care hospital.Division expansion is fueled by growth of the medical complex and added emphasis on translational research, including a large clinical base and a lung biology group.Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSERS). Minimum Qualifications:
MD, DO or foreign equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution.BC/BE in Internal MedicineBC/BE in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
