Overview
The Clinic Operations Manager- Nurse oversees the entire operations of the assigned site(s). Ensures efficient and effective operations to provide for a positive patient experience and to accomplish strategic objectives. Collaborates with Operational leaders on a regular basis to manage daily site functions while identifying and acting upon opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
• Serving in a leadership role, the Clinic Operations Manager-Nurse, is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned site(s).
• Responsible for knowledge and compliance of all LSCC policies and procedures
• Implement additional organizational policies and procedures if needed with oversight
• Adhere to established business objectives and criteria for assigned site(s)
• Develop and maintain proficiency in NextGen (electronic medical record), including but not limited to front office and clinical process as well as designated Super User status
• Oversee all staff processes to ensure accurate completion of duties
• Coach staff in areas needing improvement
• Complete regular reporting, audits, and corrective actions
• Management of supply inventory proper storage and access to secure supplies, medicines, and vaccines
• Ensure working order for all medical equipment, work with vendors on maintenance, repair, and annual inspection of equipment.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules
• Manage time and attendance, in conjunction with the RVP, to ensure adequate staffing for hours of operation
• Responsible for all aspects of workforce management including scheduling, interviewing, hiring, counseling, discipling, and evaluation of clinic staff
• Serve as the liaison between providers and clinical staff as needed
• Conduct staff meetings, maintain open communication, and encourage teamwork for all staff.
• Maintain and improve operational performance.
• Collaborate with other operational leaders to maximize efficiency and clinic flow
• Identify opportunities for improvement and carry out process improvement activities in collaboration with other operational leadership
• Provide insight and consultation to RVP on site needs
• Systematically work to achieve strategic objectives through leadership and process improvement
• Manage the patient
• Responsible for creating a culture of quality patient experience and be an advocate for patients
• Participate as a member of the patient experience team to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction
• Participate and assist in the resolution of patient complaints and grievances, in conjunction with patient experience and other operational leaders
• Provide appropriate training and education to staff as needed
• Ensure site compliance.
• Ensure assigned site(s) remain in compliance with Joint Commission and Primary Care Medical Home standards
• Manage laboratory compliance and regulations, clinical quality, and documentation for compliance
• Ensure adherence to requirements such as HIPAA, privacy and security, State Funding Programs, etc.
• Perform audits (payor, program, internal, or external) for clinic assigned and report as directed
• Prepare status reports as directed to update the status and implementation plans of programs, services, and initiatives
• Maintenance of OSHA regulations and CLIA compliance
• Monthly reporting for programs and initiatives as applicable
• Inspect facilities and recommend to the RVP building or equipment modifications to ensure emergency readiness and compliance to access, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Consult with Operational leaders to discuss service problems, respond to community needs, enhance public relations, coordinate activities and plans, and promote health programs
• Active participation in special projects as assigned
• Perform other related duties as necessary or required which may be assigned or delegated, and which may include provision of direct patient care based upon credentials
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
• Current valid Texas nursing license (LVN or RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:
• One (1) – two (2) years of clinical experience (inpatient/outpatient)
• Two (2) years management experience in a Clinic/Outpatient environment
• Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR)
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
