Chief Executive Officer
Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to lead the growing Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington (BGCB) is open, and we are looking for our next Chief Executive Officer to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. We’re seeking candidates to lead the overall planning and operation of the organization – while providing leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors. You will be responsible for bringing the organization’s mission to life, as you work to ensure that area kids and teens achieve great futures by delivering a safe and fun space, creating an engaging Club experience, and managing caring professionals to guide them along the way.
The ambition of the organization is to be able to increase the BGCB’s positive impact in the Monroe and Owen County areas. One way to achieve that is to increase the number of youth served and another is improving current program efficacy. The new CEO will be tasked with setting the vision, garnering the community’s support (and trust), and harnessing the resources to achieve this two-fold impact.
About the Organization
Since 1956, we have been dedicated to serving youth in our local community. Located in south central Indiana, we annually provide extensive programming outside of school hours as well as at camps during holidays and summer breaks. We operate four Club locations serving over 500 youth daily, throughout Monroe and Owen Counties. Our flagship unit is the historic Lincoln Street Club, which has been serving the community since our doors first opened in 1956 and underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2018. Additionally, we operate the Steve & Connie Ferguson Crestmont Club, which was built in 2017 to primarily serve those living in neighborhoods served by the Bloomington Housing Authority. The Ellettsville Club was established in 2009 and is located about 10 miles west of Bloomington while our newest location, the Owen County Club is in Spencer, and just opened at the beginning of June this year.
Additionally, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington provides fun and educational camp options for Bloomington youth at Camp Rock. Located on beautiful Lake Lemon, Camp Rock is an American Camp Association (ACA) Accredited Day Camp and offers outdoor activities such as lakefront boating, swimming, arts, outdoor education, fishing, and hiking. Campers also enjoy weekly themes and special field trips. Camp Rock serves campers entering grades 1-8 and offers a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for youth entering grades 9-12. In addition to traditional Camp Rock summer programming, Camp Rock also offers Fall and Spring Break programming in partnership with the Lincoln Street Club.
